Do you offer a military discount?

Yes! We are proud to offer a discount of 10% to all active military. This discount does not apply to any diamond or semi precious stone larger than 0.25 carats.

Can my ring be resized?

Yes, almost all of our rings can be resized except for eternity rings.

Do you do engraving?

Yes, we do engraving and have lots of special ways to do this. We use a laser engraver so this is definitely something we can discuss to make it even more special and custom.

What to do if I don’t know my ring size?

If you are in San Diego, we can schedule an in house ring sizing for you. If you are out of town we have ring sizers we can send you. However, the most accurate way to get you exact size is to be professionally sized. We can do that in house or we recommend going to your local jewelry store.

Are all of the diamonds conflict free?

Yes, all of our diamonds are conflict free. We are very careful to only work with ethical diamond dealers that abide by the Kimberley Process.

Will you work with an heirloom diamond?

We are happy to work with an heirloom diamond to recreate a special piece. We will need to get the stone or jewelry in house to assess it and make sure its a good fit for heirloom restoration. Click here to get started!

How long does it take to ship a custom ring?

Custom Engagement Rings that are made to order typically take 6-8 weeks from start to finish. If it is a design we already have and you are changing something very small it can be as quick as two weeks. Each piece is different and depends on the details of the design and sourcing of stones.

How long does it take to ship a made to order piece?

It depends but usually 3-4 weeks but if we have it in house it will be much quicker. You will get an update as soon as the order is placed with an approximate ship date. This does not include Custom Engagement Rings. This only includes pieces you find online at our website that are made to order pieces.

Can we meet in person?

We would love to meet you! Please email us at to schedule an in person consultation and see our showroom in Point Loma, San Diego.
  • Insure your ring immediately upon receiving it
  • If you are local please bring your jewelry in to our showroom so we can look at it and make sure it's looking healthy. If you are out of town, bring it to a trusted jeweler and contact us if anything needs repaired.
  • Clean your jewelry with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush. Brush with care and don’t forget to close that sink drain.
  • Purchase a jewelry case or something to store your jewelry in every day so you do lose it.
  • Take off your jewelry when you think it could be compromised. Cleaning, exercising, yard work. Your jewelry is not indestructible, treat it with care and store it in a safe place.
All domestic packages are shipped via FEDEX overnight or 2-day, fully insured of the full value, and will require a signature upon arrival. Please note that return shipments for ring sizings or repairs will be the client’s responsibility, although SCOUT can facilitate providing an insured label.

All international packages are shipped via DHL and it is the responsibility for the customer to pay all taxes and duties.

If you are local to San Diego you are welcome to pick up your jewelry from our showroom. Please contact us to arrange a time as the showroom is open for appointment only.
All SCOUT FINE JEWELRY pieces are final sale. Each piece is handcrafted and made to order. For this reason we do not accept returns or refunds. If your piece needs to be resized or there is a defect we will work with you to make it perfect for you. Please contact us within 48 hours so that we can help. We want you to love your purchase. SCOUT guarantees against all defects of materials and craftsmanship of our jewelry but it does not cover normal wear and tear, neglect, or accidental damage. We recommend that you get it insured so you are covered and have it checked out every six months to keep it in good condition. We will work with you to repair any damaged jewelry as best we can. All warranty is void if worked on by another jeweler at any point in time. We also do not work on other jeweler’s or designer’s work.
We are happy to replace any lost melee diamonds within the first 6 months (1.8mm and smaller) free of charge. If you damage your piece it will be the client’s responsibility to pay for stones and repair. Center stones are not under warranty, please insure your piece.
We are happy to provide a ring resizing if you didn’t get the size right. Please email us for a quote and shipping instructions. Please note that resizing your SCOUT piece at another jeweler voids any SCOUT warranty.
SCOUT offers appraisals complimentary for engagement rings when the diamond and setting is purchased together through us. If you are providing an heirloom diamond the fee will be $150 for an appraisal. Our appraisals are through a trusted 3rd party appraiser.
